happiest birthday to my daddy!

What an eventful weekend! 

I filled you in a little bit about yesterday, with Tara stopping by to see me. Well she came back a few hours later, and ended up going to the housewarming party with Derek and myself. It was nice catching up with everyone! We even ran into a few people we hadn't seen in awhile. And then, on the way home I saw Andrew driving around and we talked about making plans to meet up soon. I really hope 2012 can be a better year for staying in touch with friends...on top of EVERYTHING else I want to do next year. :p

Tomorrow (Monday, Dec. 12th) is my Daddy's 50TH BIRTHDAY!! Woohoo go Daddy!! But because we all have work/school/etc, we're celebrating today with fajitas and some family time. Derek will be going to his Subway Christmas Party tonight, and it will be the first year I haven't gone with him. It's usually a blast, with catered food, bar, lots of fun people, and awards but I really wanted to spend today with my family. I hope Derek's store gets the bonus he's been hoping for, the extra money would be fabulous right now!

So for this morning, I plan on staying snuggled up on the couch with my laptop while Derek plays some video games, and in a few hours I'll start some laundry before I head over to mi familia's. 

OH OH OH.

Tragic news. :( When Tara was over yesterday, we were going to play with the mousies. So I picked up their little house to bring them out, and Blondie....she wasn't moving. I nudged her a few times, but she was cold and stiff. :'( My poor Blondie mouse passed away sometime between Friday night and Saturday afternoon. I felt HORRIBLE. I think she may have had an upper respiratory infection, or perhaps she had suffered an internal injury when she was running around on the top of her cage and fell. Either way, I am heartbroken! And so is Om Nom. I think I will give her a couple days to rest and make sure she isn't sick, and then I will have to go get her a new sister. Poor Blondie will have a burial service sometime later this week. :(
